Toys4Tots Challenge

Patrick President Chapter 1 CVI
I want to thank everyone who participated in today's "Toys for Tots" event. We had a very good turn out considering the weather.
As everyone could notice when you were at the drop off site there were a lot of children and family's standing in line waiting to pick up what most likely will be the only toys that they will receive this year.

Every one who participated should feel especially good about what they did today.
On that note I propose that we plan on doing this again next year. The first Saturday of December 2009 will be the 5th. Mark that date down on your calendars, pass the word onto your friends, relatives and anyone you can think of and ask them to join us next year.

Billie, as our HOG director, you can be extremely proud of our membership. Mt. Baker HOG brought in Dec. 6....193 high value toys...and were 1st place winners receiving two $25 gift certificates to the Quarterback Sports Club Restaurant and Bar.

Totaling all motorcycle groups was 458 toys. A very welcome sight and will help restocking the inventory.

I would like to present the two $25 gift certificates to you at the Christmas dinner and also thank again our members. The effort was much appreciated.

At the January general HOG meeting, we will draw for the winners of the two gift certificates. Everyone who donated toys for the Toys4Tots challenge will receive one ticket per toy for the drawing. Thanks to all of you who showed up and donated toys at the dealership even though you couldn't attend the ride. Thanks, also, to those who came in cages so you could participate, and the riders of the twenty-one bikes that showed up and rode--a lot of those were two-up. Because of your generosity and caring there will another 193 children in Whatcom County who will have a merry Christmas when they wake up to find presents under the tree. I can't thank you enough for helping make this possible. I also want to tell you how proud I am of all of you for not only participating in this toy run but for all the events and rides we have participated in this year where we had fun riding while helping our community. Merry Christmas and may the New Year bring good tidings to all.
