Circumnavigating Whatcom County, Washington---Sort of...
Had a few hours available, and a bit of sunshine, so I took out the Tri Glide for a ride around the contiguous edges of Whatcom County, Washington. I left Ferndale and took back roads to Birch Bay State Park and on through Birch Bay toward Semiahmoo to Blaine and “H” road to Sumas. Gassed up the RD VXN and headed on to highway 9 and South. I stopped at Everybody’s Store in Van Zandt where they sell some pretty amazing sausages and cheese. Picked up a snack and bottle of water and got back on the road, South. Turned on to Park Road and headed around the lake and through Alger to Chuckanut Drive. Great day! Headed North on the twisties to Bellingham and the back way through to Gooseberry Point on the Lummi Indian Reservation where a few bald eagles were waiting for the tide to make dinner available. Then home, right ahead of the rain…well drizzle, anyway.
Next time I’ll take pictures for those of you who aren’t from around here (those of us who live here travel these particular roads on a regular basis).
